Canoes San Vicente de la Barquera, a route that runs through the bay and its respective beaches. On clear days, the views of the Bay of San Vicente de la Barquera  with the  Picos de Europa  in the background impress with their beauty, especially when the Picos de Europa are snow-covered. The estuary is subject to tidal rhythms, leaving the floodable surface practically dry in periods of low tide. These general fluvial and tidal dynamics are very special characteristics in estuaries, giving rise to diverse and complex forms of life .
